Pryor reports raising $1.1 million in final months of '13

LITTLE ROCK — U.S. Sen. Mark Pryor's campaign says he raised $1.1 million in the final three months of 2013, as the Democratic lawmaker from Arkansas gears up for a costly and nationally watched fight for a third term.

Pryor's campaign said Monday that he raised more than $5.3 million in 2013. The campaign must file its end-of-year and fourth-quarter fundraising report with the Federal Election Commission by Jan. 31. Pryor's campaign said he ended the year with $4.2 million in the bank for his re-election bid.

Pryor is running for re-election against freshman Republican U.S. Rep. Tom Cotton, who represents south Arkansas' 4th District.

The race has already spawned an expensive television air war between Cotton and Pryor, and outside groups that are expected to play heavily in the race.
