No one was injured but a house suffered extensive damage in a fire early Monday outside Sherwood.
Several crews responded to the fire at a home on Fairfield Drive about 6:15 a.m.
By 7 a.m., pockets of fire were visible around the roof, which was heavily burned and collapsed in through much of the single-story brick structure. A hazy white-gray smoke rose from the home as firefighters from departments including North Pulaski, Sherwood and Gravel Ridge sprayed water and pulled down hot spots.
The home appeared to be a loss.
The cause wasn't yet known.
