Kristol to headline state GOP dinner

National political commentator and The Weekly Standard magazine founder William Kristol will headline the Arkansas Republican Party’s annual Reagan-Rockefeller dinner in July, party officials have said.

Arkansas GOP officials said Monday that the party is “excited and honored” to host Kristol as a guest of honor, describing him as “an outspoken supporter of conservative principles, common sense solutions and efficient and effective government,” in a statement by party Chairman Doyle Webb.

U.S. Rep. Tom Cotton will be on hand to introduce the conservative analyst, Webb said.

The dinner, set for 7 p.m. July 18, will be held at the Horner Hall Ballroom in the Hot Springs Convention Center. The party will hold its biennial state convention there the following day, it said.
