Police say Baxter County man, 54, shot his brother, 68

A man was arrested in Baxter County on Friday after police say he shot his brother.

About 8:33 p.m., police responded to the home of Wesley Bryan Dickerson, 68, who had injuries on his face and upper torso from a shotgun blast, according to a news release sent out Sunday by the Baxter County sheriff's office.

He was airlifted from his home to UAMS Medical Center in Little Rock, where he was in good condition late Sunday.

Police say Wesley Dickerson had driven to the home of his brother, Charles Ray Dickerson, 54, on Fan Leaf Lane near Norfork. Charles Dickerson told Wesley Dickerson to leave or he would shoot him, the release states.

According to the release, Charles Dickerson then fired a single shot from a 12-gauge shotgun from the front door of his home, striking Wesley Dickerson, who was sitting in his 2012 Ford F-150 truck.

Wesley Dickerson then drove to his home on Sheid Road, and his wife called 911, the release says.

Charles Dickerson has been charged with first-degree battery and being a felon in possession of a firearm in commission of a crime. According to the release, he is being held in the Baxter County jail in lieu of $50,000 bond.
