A North Little Rock woman is accused of stabbing her live-in boyfriend during an argument early Tuesday morning.

Casandra L. Dupree, 50, was arrested about 12:45 a.m. near the couple's home on Melrose Circle. She faces a charge of second-degree domestic battery.

North Little Rock police say they responded and found Dupree's boyfriend standing in the street outside the home with an apparent stab wound in his stomach and a possible knife cut on his finger. He told investigators that Dupree "stabbed him during a verbal disturbance," according to an arrest report.

Dupree was found and arrested a few blocks away a short time later. Police said a kitchen knife believed to have been used in the assault was found in the home.

The report didn't specify what started the altercation.

Dupree remained in the Pulaski County jail later Tuesday morning with bail not yet set. An initial court appearance is scheduled later in the day.
