MOUNTAIN VIEW -- Police have captured an inmate who escaped from a northern Arkansas jail.
TV station KAIT, Channel 8, reported that Shane Lee Mitchell, 37, was caught by Independence County police.
The Stone County sheriff's office said it received word early Thursday that Mitchell had been apprehended. The agency reported Mitchell missing from the county jail on Wednesday afternoon. It was unclear how he escaped.
Stone County jail records indicate Mitchell was being held on a probation violation.
