Steely Dan will do it again on Walmart stage in Rogers

Steely Dan, headed, as it has been since it debuted in 1972, by Donald Fagen and Walter Becker, will take the stage at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Walmart Arkansas Music Pavilion, 5079 W. Northgate Road, Rogers.

Dancers in company

Four new dancers will join the Ballet Arkansas company under the aegis of Artistic Director Michael Bearden for the 2014-15 season:

• Tony Sewer from Milwaukee Ballet II

• Megan Hustel from the University of Utah

• Hannah Bradshaw from the BalletMet Trainee program in Columbus, Ohio.

• Little Rock native Georgia Quinn, a former Ballet Arkansas youth division member, will join the company as an apprentice.

Dancers Katchiri Feys, Laurel Dix and Julianne Zilahy have left the company.

Bearden says more than 70 dancers from around the country auditioned for a company spot.

Festival programmer

Film critic and journalist Lauren Wissot has been named programming director for the Hot Springs Documentary Film Festival, Oct. 10-19 at the city's Arlington Hotel.

Wissot is the former director of programming for the Santa Fe Independent Film Festival and still serves as its programming consultant. She is a member of the Bermuda International Film Festival's international advisory board and a contributing editor at Filmmaker magazine.

Blytheville season

The Arts Council of Mississippi County's 2014-15 series kicks off a bluegrass evening with headliner BlueRoad, a Georgia band, at 7 p.m. Aug. 16 at the Ritz Civic Center, 306 W. Main St., Blytheville. Tickets are $15 in advance, $20 at the door.

The rest of the lineup (all performances at 7 p.m. at the Ritz, unless otherwise noted); tickets are $5 more at the door, free for children 12 and younger with a paying adult):

• Dec. 1: Forum Sinfonia chamber orchestra from Krakow, Poland. $20

• April 10: Springer Theatricals' touring production of off-Broadway musical Della's Diner ( music by Harris Wheeler, lyrics by Mary L. Fisher, book by Tom Edwards). Annual "Gala Meet the Artists Reception" before the show. $20

• April 17: Bits N Pieces Puppet Theater's Rip Van Winkle, adapted from the story by Washington Irving. 6:30 p.m. $10
