LR gunman robs Walgreens store

Little Rock police are investigating a robbery that occurred Friday morning at Walgreens on West Markham Street.

Officers responded to Walgreens, 3901 W. Markham St., at about 11:30 a.m. Friday to reports of a robbery. Witnesses told police that the robber, armed with a gun, had fled south on Pine Street, said Little Rock police spokesman Lt. Sidney Allen.

Allen described the suspect as a 5-foot-6, 200-pound black man with a beard. He was wearing a dark shirt and cowboy boots at the time of the robbery.

Copper thefts lead to arrests of three

Two Jacksonville men were arrested Thursday in the theft of copper from commercial properties, and officers later discovered that one of them was maintaining a drug premises near Jacksonville Middle School, according to arrest reports.

Police were sent to the Jacksonville Water Department warehouse in response to a burglary alarm Thursday morning. After a brief foot chase, officers apprehended Austin Lindabury, 22, and Brady Johnson, 38, near a shopping center at 1925 W. Main St. A bag containing tools and copper was found nearby, police said.

After interviewing the suspects, police discovered the men had previously vandalized air conditioning units at Jacksonville Middle School and removed copper-aluminum coils, reports said. Police also learned that Lindabury lived in a shed on Johnson's property. Inside the shed he kept methamphetamine, which he and Johnson sold "on occasion," according to the arrest reports.

When officers searched the shed at 1508 Carolyn St. -- located about three blocks from Jacksonville Middle School -- they found 1.21 ounces of the drug and several baggies, according to reports.

Lindabury, Johnson and Kellie Johnson, also a resident of the Carolyn Street home, were arrested at 11:30 a.m. Thursday and booked into the Pulaski County jail.

Lindabury faces the most severe charges, including possession of methamphetamine with intent to sell, maintaining a drug premises near a drug-free zone, criminal mischief, theft of property, fleeing and two counts of commercial burglary. His bail was set at $44,000.

All three remained on the jail's roster Friday evening.

Turn-signal lapse leads to drug find

A Little Rock man faces seven drug-related felonies after police said he failed to use a turn signal late Thursday afternoon.

According to arrest reports, officers pulled over a vehicle driven by Frenchy Branscomb, 32, at John Barrow Road and Labette Manor Drive about 4 p.m.

During the stop, officers found that the driver had nearly 2 pounds of marijuana, 1,118 pills of various prescription drugs, a drug scale and a stolen 9mm handgun.

Charges against Branscomb include several counts of possession of various drugs and drug paraphernalia, being a felon in possession of a firearm and theft by receiving.

Branscomb was also charged with failing to use his turn signal.

He was not in custody late Friday, according to the Pulaski County jail roster.

Man faces charges over shots into door

A Little Rock man was arrested Thursday on charges that he made threats and fired several shots into the door of a home earlier this month, according to police.

Moran Raymond Ellis, 32, was arrested Thursday after the accuser identified him in a photo lineup, police said. Moran was booked into the Pulaski County jail and charged with three counts of a terroristic act — a Class B felony.

About 9:30 p.m. on July 12, police responded to reports of gunshots at 6201 Mabelvale Cut Off Road. Steven Owens told officers that a man arrived at his door, started yelling and fired a gun. Police found bullet holes in the deadbolt and handle of the door.

Owens said he did not know the man’s name but admitted that the two had gotten into an argument and a fight at Morehart Park in southwest Little Rock.

“The victim said he won the fight, but broke his right index finger as a result,” the arrest report reads.

Ellis’ bail was set at $50,000 Thursday, and he has a parole hold placed on his custody.

In 2012, Ellis was released from state prison after serving time for robbery and weapons convictions, according to court records.

Accused of pointing gun, woman jailed

A Bryant woman was arrested Thursday over accusations she pointed a gun at four people in Little Rock earlier this month, according to police.

Tericka Davenport, 26, was arrested at her Byrant home Thursday and booked into the Pulaski County jail. She was charged with aggravated assault and possession of a firearm.

About 5:30 p.m. on July 12, Barbara Smith, a resident of the home at 5806 Southwick Drive, told police that Davenport, an acquaintance, visited the home and became aggressive. Smith told police that she shoved Davenport out of the door, and Davenport then got a semi-automatic handgun from the trunk of her car and pointed it at Smith and three others.

Davenport drove away, pointing the handgun in the air, Smith told police. Officers were unable to locate Davenport at the time.

Davenport was not listed on the jail’s roster Friday night.

Parolee called rude at pork-theft arrest

A parole absconder was less than courteous during his Thursday night arrest at a Little Rock grocery store after workers said they saw him trying to steal two packages of bacon, police said.

Arresting officers noted that Herman Harrison, 55, was “very rude and disrespectful” to officers and workers at the Kroger at 1100 E. Roosevelt Road, when he was arrested at 6:45 p.m.

According to police reports, Harrison was spotted stashing about $36.75 worth of bacon and then trying to walk out with out paying.

An employee confronted Harrison outside, reports said, and held him until officers arrived.

Harrison had several warrants out for his arrest in Little Rock and North Little Rock, according to officers, who also said they found drug pipes, scrubbing pads and cut straws in his backpack.

Harrison, of Sherwood, was charged with theft of property, possession of an instrument of crime, and failure to appear and booked in at the Pulaski County jail. He remained there Friday night on a parole hold and in lieu of several bonds.
