Arkansas State Police are investigating what officers are calling a double homicide in the eastern Arkansas town of Cotton Plant.
According to a police statement, Cotton Plant police received a call about 6:30 a.m. Saturday that bodies had been found at a residence at 321 Ash St. Officers found one body inside the house and one outside.
The victims were identified as Audrey Vaughan, 19, and Howard Chapel, age unknown.
Special agents from the state police's Criminal Investigation Division were called to assist in the investigation. The bodies of the two victims and other evidence have been sent to the state Crime Laboratory.
A cause and manner of death will be officially determined next week, the statement said.
