Locals to compete for Miss Arkansas’ Outstanding Teen

RUSSELLVILLE — Several young women with ties to the Tri-Lakes Edition coverage area will compete in the 10th annual Miss Arkansas’ Outstanding Teen Pageant on Wednesday through Saturday at The Center for the Arts, 2209 S. Knoxville Ave. in Russellville.

The preliminary competition will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday with the winner to be announced Saturday.

Local contestants include the following:

• Miss Greater Hot Springs Outstanding Teen — Jessica Miller of Benton, the 15-year-old daughter of Scott and Dodi Miller, will present a tap dance for her talent, and her platform is “SAVE: Suicide Awareness and Prevention.”

She will compete in interview on Wednesday, talent on Thursday and evening wear/active wear on Friday.

• Miss Greater Jacksonville Outstanding Teen — Alexis Landers of Benton, the daughter of Brianna Mathews and Josh Landers, will present a jazz dance for her talent, and her platform is “Mentoring Offers Endless Possibilities.”

She will compete in interview on Wednesday, talent on Thursday and evening wear/active wear on Friday.

• Miss South Central Arkansas Outstanding Teen — Grace McClanahan of Hot Springs, the 17-year-old daughter of Mac and Paulette McClanahan, will present a vocal selection for her talent, and her platform is “Music Matters.”
