A lengthy police chase that weaved through parts of Little Rock on Tuesday morning has ended with the arrest of a suspect accused of pointing a gun at his nephew.

Authorities say Cory Devante, 22, fled from the scene of a disturbance at 14213 Krestview Drive in Mabelvale in Saline County, leading authorities on a pursuit through parts of Little Rock and then back to the neighborhood where it started. At one point the Cadillac Devante was driving was reported to be leading officers on a chase on Chicot Road and through surrounding neighborhoods.

The pursuit, which police on scene estimated reached speeds of about 60 mph, ended near where it started at Coral and Krestview drives. A number of police vehicles from agencies including Little Rock, Saline County and Arkansas State Police lined Krestview behind the Cadillac.

The Saline County sheriff's office said a deputy initially went to the residence Tuesday morning and met with Devante's mother and nephew.

"[The nephew] stated that Devante pointed a pistol at him and threatened him," Sheriff Cleve Barfield said in a statement. "As Deputies were talking to the victims, they pointed to a vehicle and stated that was Devante."

The vehicle sped off, police said, and police followed it into Little Rock and then back to Saline County.

Devante is facing charges of aggravated assault on a family member, fleeing and aggravated assault, all Class D felonies.
