Wheeler keeps Bassfest lead
Jacob Wheeler of Indianapolis continues to lead at the Bassmaster Bassfest at Lake Chickamauga in Dayton, Tenn. Wheeler caught four fish for 16 pounds, 2 ounces and leads with a total weight of 68-5. Sitting in second place is Matthew Herren of Trussville, Ala., who weighed in 23-6 Saturday for a three-day total of 67-4. Kevin VanDam of Kalamazoo, Mich., is fourth with 61-4 after weighing in with 15-13 Saturday. Greg Hackney of Gonzales, La., and a former native of Star City, is fifth with 58-7 after 13-10 on Saturday. Bella Vista’s Mike McClelland, who advanced to Saturday’s third round after getting the last spot in a 10-person, second-chance competition Friday, finished 48th and 35-15 after catching 15-12 and will not advance to today’s final round which features the top 12 anglers.
