Sightings of hummingbirds other than the ruby-throated are rare in Arkansas.

According to the Arkansas Audubon Society, these visitors have included:

• Anna's

• Black-chinned

• Broad-billed

• Broad-tailed

• Buff-bellied

• Calliope

• Magnificent

• Rufous

Ebird.org, a website run by the Cornell Lab of Ornithology and the National Audubon Society, also lists a sighting of a bird that could have been either an Allen's or a rufous.

Ebird.org shows when and where birds were sighted. Most of the hummingbirds on this list appeared during fall and winter, but not the summer. According to the website, rufous is the most frequent visitor next to the ruby-throated, but its numbers pale in comparison.

Images of all the hummingbirds on this list and a few more are available at hummingbirds.net/species.html.
