Farm Safety Just for Kids Camp Registration Deadline

RUSSELLVILLE — The deadline is Monday for registration for the Arkansas Tech University Department of Agriculture’s 2014 edition of its award-winning Farm Safety Just for Kids camp, to be held July 7-11. The camp, for children age 9-12, teaches participants how to remain safe around animals, chemicals, electricity, farm equipment, fire, food and other potential threats on farms. The camp is limited to 20 participants. The cost is $50, which includes lunch, snacks, drinks, supplies and a camp T-shirt. Ladies’ Lunch Break

CONWAY — The First Wednesday Ladies’ Lunch Break, a nondenominational Bible study, has relocated to Second Baptist Church at Dave Ward Drive and Farris Road. The group will meet at noon in the Student Building Fellowship Hall. Enter the drive from Farris Road. Women of all ages are invited to attend. Lunch, for $5, includes a drink and dessert. Call for Musicians

RUSSELLVILLE — The West Central River Valley Community Band is accepting new and returning members for summer rehearsals, to be held from 7-8:30 p.m. Thursdays, beginning this week, at the Arkansas Center for Music Education, 502 Tyler Road. The band will prepare pieces, including marches and movie themes, for its first performance on Aug. 2. Players should be at least junior-high level to participate. Dardanelle Fourth of July Celebration

DARDANELLE — The city of Dardanelle will hold a Fourth of July celebration with free activities. Quay to Locust streets will be closed from 1-10 p.m. Friday. Free activities will include inflatables, a rock wall, a dunking booth and paintballing from 5-8 p.m. Musical entertainment will begin at 5 p.m. with Walk on Faith, followed by Fool’s Gold at 6 p.m. and Rawhide from 7:30-9:30 p.m. A fireworks display will begin at 9:15 p.m. Anyone who would like to be a food, arts or crafts vendor may go by Dardanelle City Hall, 116 N. Front St., or call (479) 229-4500 for a form to be mailed. There is no charge to vendors.

Russellville Fireworks Display

RUSSELLVILLE — The city of Russellville will present a free community fireworks display at 9:15 p.m. in the Old Post Road Park. The Russellville Kiwanis Club will have concessions available.

Heber Springs Fireworks Extravaganza

Market Day at Wesley UMC

CONWAY — Market Day will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Wesley United Methodist Church, 2310 E. Oak St., across from Caldwell Country Store. This indoor market will feature fresh produce, eggs, baked goods, jams and jellies, and handcrafted items. A silent auction will feature a quilt completed by the Wesley Keenagers quilting circle. Augsburg Fall Fest Booth Applications

AUGSBURG — JoAnn Dorn, the arts, crafts and vendor booth chairwoman, is taking applications for booth spaces for the seventh annual Augsburg Fall Fest, to be held Oct. 11 at Zion Lutheran Church at the intersection of Arkansas 333 and Augsburg Road. Anyone who wants to have a booth at the festival may get an application form by calling Dorn at (479) 331-2302. The fee for all booths is $25. Proceeds from the festival will benefit the River Valley Free Christian Clinic and the Augsburg Food Pantry.

Soccer Complex Temporary Closures

RUSSELLVILLE — The Russellville Recreation and Parks Department is working on repairing the fields at the Russellville Soccer Complex. While the repairs are underway, the complex will be closed at various times. When the complex is open, only the fields with goals will be available for use. Holiday Puppets Family Show

FAIRFIELD BAY — The Holiday Puppets will perform at 11 a.m. every Wednesday during the summer at the Puppet Playhouse in the post office building. The 45-minute show features Punch and Judy, Dudley the Magnificent Magician and The Cat Came Back shadow puppets. The family show is free and open to the public.
