Passing lane in Stone County meeting's topic

State highway officials seek public input about a plan to add a passing lane on Arkansas 66 in Stone County.

The plan would extend the eastbound passing lane one mile east of South Sylamore Creek, which is between Mountain View and Timbo, the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department said in a statement.

The meeting, which will allow the public to view displays and offer comments to highway officials, will be held from 4-7 p.m. Thursday in the fellowship hall at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 17068 Arkansas 66 in Mountain View.

More information is available by calling the department's Environmental Division at (501) 569-2281.
