A Little Rock apartment building was heavily damaged in an overnight fire and one resident suffered burn injuries, authorities said.

The flames were contained to one building at Normandy Place Apartments, which sits at 7111 Indiana Ave., south of Cantrell Road and east of Mississippi Street, but it suffered significant damage and all of its occupants were displaced.

The building had extensive damage visible from outside, including a burned-away roof, melted siding and charred walls.

Little Rock Fire Department Capt. Jason Weaver said crews were called about 1:20 a.m. to the blaze, finding two apartments on the second floor of the two-story structure fully engulfed.

Crews first confirmed that all occupants had evacuated the building on their own, though Weaver said it wasn't clear whether they were alerted by residents going door-to-door, smoke alarms or some other way.

He added officials later learned that one woman suffered some form of burn injuries. Weaver had no information on her condition.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
