Glasses of champagne were raised in honor of Access Schools’ 20th anniversary and in honor of event Chairmen Lynn and George O’Connor at Starry Starry Night, the annual fundraiser for Access Group, on March 13 at the Statehouse Convention Center in Little Rock.
There was much to celebrate throughout the evening. Susan and Robert McGowan announced that they would match funds - up to $10,000 - that were raised and were doing so in honor of executive director Tammy Simmons.
Personal stories from parents and clients celebrated the successes of the nonprofit, which provides education, therapy and training for children and young adults with learning disabilities.
After dinner, guests participated in a live auction and a paddle raise where donors could direct their donation to a specific fund including tuition assistance, educational technology and therapeutic fine arts.
The evening, with about 400 guests, raised $300,000 for the schools.
