Woman gets probation in abuse charge

PARAGOULD - A Greene County woman has been sentenced to probation after allegations that she permitted child sex abuse.

The Paragould Daily Press reported that April M. Crow, 34, was sentenced to six years of probation. She pleaded guilty in Greene County Circuit Court.

Paragould police arrested Crow last year after the Arkansas Child Abuse Hotline received a tip accusing Crow’s husband, Barry, of having sex with an underage girl who was a family member.

Barry Crow, 43, pleaded guilty earlier to a charge of rape and was sentenced to 40 years in prison.

Authorities said the girl told April Crow about the abuse, but April Crow failed to take action to stop it.
