It’s a Del Shores weekend. The comedian presents a screening of his film, Southern Baptist Sissies, at 7:30 p.m. Friday. Tickets are $13.50. After leading an acting workshop at 11 a.m., he performs Del Shores: My Sordid Best at 7:30 p.m. Saturday. The workshop is $125 and tickets are $28.50 for general admission, $48.50 for VIP seating and reception.

5 SYMPHONIC

Internationally acclaimed violinist Rachel Barton Pine will head up master classes, improvisation workshops and rehearsals as part of a three-day Youth Rock Camp, a partnership of the Arkansas Symphony and sponsoring radio station KPPT-FM, 94.1, “The Point,” Friday-Sunday at Wildwood Park for the Arts, 20919Denny Road, Little Rock. It culminates in a 3 p.m. Sunday concert with Pine as soloist and ASO Youth Orchestra Conductor Geoffrey Robson on the podium for a program that pairs classical composers Jean Sibelius, Max Bruch, Antonio Vivaldi and Niccolo Paganini with the Pine-arranged rock and heavy metal sounds of Van Halen, Metallica, Nirvana, Black Sabbath, AC/DC, Rush and Led Zeppelin. Tickets are $20, $10 for students.

Arkansas Symphony Orchestra co-concertmaster Kiril Laskarov and friends will play an all-Franz Schubert concert at 7 p.m. Sunday at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 4106 John F. Kennedy Blvd., North Little Rock. Laskarov, violin, and Tatiana Roitman, piano, will play Schubert’s Sonatina in D major, and join Kate Weeks, viola, Brett Andrews, cello, and Barron Weir, bass, for the “Trout” Quintet.

7 SHOWCASE

The first Royal Film Festival (formerly Reel Women Film Festival) will highlight Arkansas filmmakers Saturday at the Royal Theatre, 111 S. Market St., Benton. The lineup also includes films from the University of Mississippi, including a short documentary on the now-defunct Benton restaurant Ed ’n’ Kays.

8 STAIRS

The American Lung Association invites everyone to test their stamina by climbing the more than 700 steps at Little Rock’s War Memorial Stadium in the annual Fight for Air Climb, 8 a.m.-noon Saturday. Of course, if the stairs are too daunting, there’s also the noncompetitive two-mile run/walk around the outside of the stadium. While the race is going on, children can enjoy bouncy houses, games and other activities on the football field in the YMCA of Metropolitan Little Rock’s Healthy Kids Day. 9 SKATE

Kids can test their skills on wheels and get a few pointers at the Jacksonville Parks and Recreation’s Bikes, Blades & Boards event, 10 a.m. Friday. Bikes, skateboards, scooters and skates are welcome - helmets are required - on the obstacle course at the Jacksonville Skate Park, 5 Municipal Drive. Writer/crooner/storyteller Arlo Guthrie will share music and tips at the Ozark Folk Center State Park in Mountain View as part of its Celebrity Concert series.
