4 dead, 4 injured in Jonesboro shootings

JONESBORO — Four people are dead and four more injured Saturday after a man shot seven people at a home and a business in Jonesboro and later died of a gunshot wound.

The dead include a 13-year-old girl, and the injured include a 10-year-old boy and an 8-year-old boy, who were in critical condition at a Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital in Memphis on Saturday evening.

The children were among six people shot at a home on Moore Road, authorities said.

The gunman then went to a business on Dalton Farmer Drive and fatally shot another man, police said.

Authorities have not identified the victims or the purported gunman, who was found dead Saturday afternoon from a gunshot wound in his vehicle on Craighead County Road 642. Jonesboro Police Department spokesman Doug Formon said officers didn’t know whether the gunman’s wound was self-inflicted or whether it had been suffered previously.
