Elizabeth Anne Wiedower and Adam Russell Jackson exchanged marriage vows at 6 p.m. Saturday, April 26, at the Plantation Agriculture Museum in Scott. The Rev. Victor H. Nixon officiated.
Parents of the bride are Julie and William Wiedower, 3119 Foxcroft Road. Her grandparents are Sybil and Julian E. Smith of Little Rock and James H. Wiedower Jr. and the late Freda G. Wiedower of Guy.
Mary and Russell Jackson, 23 Glenridge Drive, are the parents of the groom. He is the grandson of the late Geraldine T. and Charles Alton Barnett of Little Rock and the late Mary W. and Charles R. Jackson of North Little Rock.
The ceremony site was decorated with a garland of jasmine, seeded eucalyptus, peonies, spirea, larkspur and hydrangeas in shades of white and spring green. Music was by the Jarboe String Quartet and vocalist Alan Barnett Florendo, cousin of the groom. Reader was Sarah Elizabeth Cowan, cousin of the bride.
Given in marriage by her father and grandfathers, the bride wore an ivory gown of Lyon lace-embellished English net over charmeuse satin. The fitted bodice had demi cap sleeves and the slim trumpet skirt extended to a chapel-length train. She carried a garden-style bouquet of peonies, lilac, sweet peas and lilies of the valley.
Jennifer Lee Wiedower of Washington was her sister’s maid of honor. She wore a teal-blue duppioni silk sheath dress with a V-neckline and pleated skirt. She carried a nosegay of lilies of the valley.
Flower girl was Addison Mary Jackson of St. Louis, niece of the groom.
Serving as his brother’s best man was Bradford Charles Jackson of St. Louis. Guests were seated by Nathan Lane Cook of Oklahoma City and Gregory Ethan Alperin of Dallas.
A reception in the restored Dortch Seed Warehouse at the museum followed the ceremony. The buffet held arrangements of viburnum, French tulips and peonies. Guest tables alternated tall arrangements of French tulips and spirea with low arrangements of green and white parrot tulips, ranunculus, lilacs and sweet peas. Music was by That Arkansas Weather.
The bride has a bachelor’s degree in Southern studies from Hendrix College in Conway and a master’s degree in public history from the University of South Carolina at Columbia. She is a senior field officer for the National Trust for Historic Preservation.
The groom graduated cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in Spanish from Sewanee: The University of the South, Sewanee, Tenn. He received a juris doctorate from the University of Arkansas School of Law in Fayetteville. He is a senior land negotiator with Hess Corp.
After a wedding trip to New York, the couple will live in Houston.
