For the 50th year, the Quapaw Quarter Association invites the public to take a look around some of the capital city’s historic homes in the Governor’s Mansion Historic District. The Quapaw Quarter Spring Tour of Homes starts off Saturday with the Candlelight and Champagne Tour at 5:30 p.m. and a dinner and party at the Governor’s Mansion at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $125. An after party at South on Main Restaurant follows at 9:30 p.m. Admission is $40 in advance or $50 at the door. On Sunday, there will be a brunch and garden tour at Curran Hall, 615 E. Capitol Ave., 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Tickets are $35 in advance, $50 at the door. The tour itself, which includes lawn games, music and food, is 1-5 p.m. Sunday. The Arkansas Symphony Orchestra closes out its three-concert A.C.T. in Concert series with a program titled "Pan's Midsummer Night Dream," 7 p.m. today at the Argenta Community Theater, 405 Main St., North Little Rock. On the program: two pieces by Claude Debussy; Awakenings of Earth and Time by Frank Wiley with solo percussionist Erick Saoud, whose artist wife, Marcy, will use the music to inspire an original-on-stage painting; and Michael Torke's Mojave Concerto in its original chamber version, with marimba soloist Rick Dimond and percussionist Blake Taylor joining the Rockefeller Quartet. The Arkansas Civil War Sesquicentennial Commission and the Central Arkansas Library System will host a free debut showing of War in the '60s, a Civil War documentary by the late broadcast journalist Jack E. Hill (completed by documentarian Dale Carpenter, professor of journalism at the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville), 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the Ron Robinson Theater. Carpenter will introduce the film; Thomas A. DeBlack of Arkansas Tech University and Mark Christ of the Sesquicentennial Commission will field post-screening questions. Admission is free.
