Where I live: I live in the Otter Creek neighborhood of southwest Little Rock with my husband, Courtney, and our blended Brady Bunch family of six children: Derrick, 16, Deja, 15, Breanna, 15, Alexis, 13, Christian, 10, and Courtney Jr., 6. Rounding out our household are Gomer and Kelly, two Rottweiler rescued dogs.
Occupation: I am the choral director for Mount St. Mary Academy.
My favorite space is: My piano room
Why? When we bought our five-bedroom home for our family of eight, my husband and I made a deal that we each got to choose one big purchase for the house. His was a huge flat screen television. My choice was a piano. My piano is in a room off the living room. It is where I practice and where I teach private voice lessons. It is where I made my children and their friends sit and be my practice class as I prepared lesson plans. In here, I practiced my piano scales and solo piece to pass my piano proficiency exam for graduation from [the University of Arkansas at Little Rock]. I often come in here just to have time to myself. And the funny thing is that I sometimes find my husband sitting in here for a quiet moment away from the electronic world.
If I could make one change to improve this space, I would: Change the paint color on the walls.
