Police in Fort Smith are looking for a suspect accused of breaking into an ATM inside a popular nightspot.

Authorities say the burglary was discovered at the Electric Cowboy nightclub, 6107 S. 31st St., on Tuesday morning. The culprit broke open an ATM that was in the lobby of the bar and stole an undisclosed amount of cash.

The Southwest Times Record reported that the thief pried away metal siding on the outside of the building, removed insulation and busted through drywall to get inside.

A door beneath the screen of the ATM was forced open, and the cash box was removed. Police found the empty cash box on the floor next to the ATM.

Damage to the ATM was estimated at $3,500, and damage to the building was estimated at $400.
