Kevin Spacey to host show celebrating Clinton Center

Nick Jonas, Amos Lee, Court Yard Hounds and Kool & The Gang will perform from 8 to 10 p.m. Saturday as part of "Celebrate 10," marking the 10th anniversary of the Clinton Presidential Center. Gates will open at 6:30 p.m. and the concert will be in a pavilion in the park.

President Bill and Hillary Rodham Clinton will be on hand and actor Kevin Spacey will be the master of ceremonies.

Nick Jonas and his brothers, Kevin and Joe, as The Jonas Brothers, were a boy band popular from 2005 until October 2013, when they broke up. Amos Lee is a noted folksinger who has opened shows for Bob Dylan, Van Morrison, Elvis Costello, Merle Haggard, Norah Jones and Adele. Court Yard Hounds are sisters Martie Maguire and Emily Robison, better known for having founded The Dixie Chicks, who went on hiatus in 2008. Kool & The Gang are a rhythm and blues, funk/disco band formed 50 years ago.

The event is free and open to the public, with attendees asked to provide canned and shelf-stable boxed food as tickets. Registration in advance is required, by visiting clintonfoundation.org/celebrate10.

Adam Hambrick, a Conway native now living in Nashville, Tenn., will perform at 9 p.m. Saturday at Stickyz Rock 'n' Roll Chicken Shack.

Hambrick's song "I Will Never" won the grand prize at the 2011 Alchemy Songwriting Competition. He released a new EP, Wheels or Wings, on Sept. 30.

Noel Gourdin will perform at 8 p.m. today at Juanita's.

Gourdin, a native of Brockton, Mass., spent his boyhood summers in Pachuta, Miss., where he came to appreciate the sounds of Southern soul. He scored his first record deal at age 24, when Sony Music signed him. His first hit, "The River," was at No. 1 for 15 weeks on the urban adult contemporary chart in 2008.

His latest album, City Heart, Southern Soul, was released Jan. 28.

A "singers' extravaganza" will be held at 8:30 p.m. today at the Revolution Room, featuring Tricia Reed, Jerome Marshall, Ramona Smith, Melissa Burnett, Tim Anthony, Charlotte Taylor, Bijoux, Haywood King, Tye Liggins, Epiphany, Genine Perez, Keith Savage, Steve Hester and Osyrus Bolly.

The singers will perform selections from the decades beginning with the 1950s, in a format resembling a playwright creating a musical, and through the use of costumes, according to organizer Cliff Aaron.

Opening acts will be Nicky Parrish, Andrea LaFaye and others.

There will also be an awards ceremony for Ramona Smith, Tawanna Campbell Berry and Nicky Parrish.
