ADEQ launches mobile complaints application

LITTLE ROCK — The Arkansas Department of Environmental Quality has launched a mobile app that allows users anywhere in the state to report environmental hazards directly from some smartphones.

The mobile app is available in the Google Play Store. Users should search for "ADEQ" and press "install" when the app, which features the department's seal, comes up. The app is currently available only for users of Android smartphones, but the department said it's also developing the app for iPhone users.

The department said the app allows Arkansans to report environmental hazards in real time.

To file a complaint, residents must provide a complaint type and a description of the potential violation, the county and the location or driving directions to the potential hazard.
