GOP: Democrat's signs violated law

The executive director of the state Republican Party, Megan Tollett, is alleging in a letter to the Federal Election Commission that Democratic congressional candidate Patrick Hays of North Little Rock violated federal election law regarding campaign yard signs.

"The violation in question is the omission of the printed box around the disclaimer required to be on all printed materials under 11 CFR 110.11 (c) (2) (i), (ii) and (iii)," Tollett wrote in a letter dated Monday.

Hays' campaign manager David Furr said Monday that, "We will review the documentation and ensure that if any of our signs lack a box around the printed disclaimer, that they will be fixed."

Hays is vying with Republican candidate French Hill of Little Rock and Libertarian candidate Debbie Standiford of North Little Rock to succeed Republican U.S. Rep. Tim Griffin of Little Rock in the Nov. 4 general election. Griffin is running for lieutenant governor.
