Hot Springs police arrested a murder suspect Wednesday who escaped from a jail in Oklahoma last week.
Raymond Jay Stewart, 26, was arrested about 2 p.m. in the 100 block of Bridge Street, according to police spokesman Lt. Duane Tarbert. Stewart escaped Saturday from the Bryan County jail in Oklahoma, where he was being held on a first-degree murder charge.
A detective saw Stewart walking downtown and recognized him from his multiple face tattoos, including a four-leaf clover on his left cheek, Tarbert said.
Stewart was being held in the Garland County jail late Wednesday awaiting extradition to Oklahoma.
