Raped on campus, student at UA says

A 19-year-old University of Arkansas at Fayetteville student told police that she was raped by an acquaintance at a university residence hall.

UA police received the report Tuesday. The woman told police the rape took place between 10 and 11:30 p.m. Monday at the Northwest Quad dormitory, Capt. Gary Crain of the UA Police Department said Thursday.

"I would not describe it as a dating relationship, but the two people knew each other and had known each other since the beginning of school," said Crain, describing the suspect as a 23-year-old UA student.

Crain said no arrest had been made, and the investigation is ongoing.
