Ball guests appetized

Chateaubriand and jewelry on menu as guests anticipate Miracle Ball

Patrons of Miracle Ball were treated to an elegant dinner Oct. 16 at Chateau Saint Cloud, the palatial home of George and Linda Gleason. Terri and Chuck Erwin hosted the event and are chairing the gala, a fundraiser for Arkansas Children's Hospital.

Guests previewed some of the items set for auction at the Dec. 13 ball, including a $90,000 baguette-cut diamond and emerald necklace and earring set donated by Jones & Son Diamond & Bridal Fine Jewelry. It was modeled at the dinner by Terri Irwin, who also helped design the jewelry set. Other items partygoers could look forward to bidding on in December include a scenic helicopter ride over Little Rock plus a party for 60 at the Ranch home of Sharon and Johnny Bale and a getaway to Napa, Calif., donated by Cassie and Jason LaFrance, next year's ball chairmen.

About 140 guests were in attendance for the dinner catered by the restaurant 1620 Savoy. On the menu were Maple Leaf Farms duck confit, chateaubriand and lobster with truffle-scented potato Dauphinoise, and for dessert, lemon chantilly.
