Driver identified in Glenwood girl's death

Arkansas State Police have identified a Delight man as the driver who fatally hit a 12-year-old student with his vehicle Monday as she exited a school bus.

Dwight Moody, 88, was westbound in a 2001 Ford Explorer when he struck Jazmin Hernandez of Glenwood in the 1900 block of Arkansas 70 near Salem, Arkansas State Police spokesman Bill Sadler said in a news release.

Dorothy Moody, 84, also of Delight was in the vehicle during the accident.

Hernandez was struck shortly before 3:30 p.m. and died about three hours later at Arkansas Children’s Hospital, Arkansas Online previously reported.

Police submitted an investigative report to Prosecuting Attorney Bryan Chesshir, who will consider possible criminal charges that may be filed against Dwight Moody, the release states.
