Train like a warrior

Each branch of the U.S. military conducts regular physical fitness tests to ensure personnel are in a state of readiness.

See how you stack up against military members in their 20s by comparing your results to these branches' fitness standards. (Standards for other age groups can be seen online at military.com)

ARMY PHYSICAL FITNESS TEST

Methodology: Three-event physical fitness test assigns points for given total or time; passing requires 180 total points with at least 60 points in each category.

Frequency: Every six months

Components/perfect score (22-26 age division):

• Pushups in 2 minutes -- 77 (men), 46 (women)

• Situps in 2 minutes -- 80 (men and women)

• 2 mile run -- 13:00 (men), 15:36 (women)

Weight management: Personnel must fall within acceptable weight limits, measured by weigh-in every six months. Failure to make weight triggers body fat measurements, and body fat cannot exceed 22 percent for men or 32 percent for women for the 21 to 27 age division.

NAVY PHYSICAL READINESS TEST

• Pushups in 2 minutes -- 92

• Curlups (situps) in 2 minutes -- 109

• 2 mile run -- 8:15
