Felon waving gun jailed, police say

North Little Rock police arrested a West Helena man Thursday after responding to reports of a man "waving around a gun," according to a report.

Police arrested Henry Ravery, 64, at the Super Stop gas station at 1524 Pike Ave. at 7:51 p.m.

A small handgun was found on Ravery, and officers noted he had bloodshot eyes, slurred speech and smelled of intoxicants.

Officers were told by a North Little Rock dispatcher that Ravery was a convicted felon.

He was charged with public intoxication and possession of a firearm by certain persons.

He was being held Friday in the Pulaski County jail in lieu of $2,500 bond.

Threat letter leads to woman's arrest

A woman was arrested Friday afternoon after threatening to kill Little Rock Police Chief Kenton Buckner and President Barack Obama, police said.

Catina Ervin, 41, walked into the Little Rock Police Department at 700 W. Markham St. and handed officers a typed letter containing the threats, according to an arrest report. She was arrested about 2:30 p.m.

Further details were unavailable late Friday.

Ervin was charged with second-degree terroristic threatening. She was being held in the Pulaski County jail in lieu of $2,500 bond.
