A body found along Interstate 40 near Palestine early Wednesday has been identified as 35-year-old Amy Darlene Bandy, authorities said Saturday.
Bandy's body was spotted about 1 a.m. by a truck driver who saw it on the ground beside the outside lane near mile marker 236.
An autopsy revealed Bandy may have died after being hit by a vehicle, Arkansas State Police said in a news release.
"Arkansas State Police Criminal Investigation Division Special Agents are working to identify where Bandy had been in the days before her death and develop leads to identify a vehicle that may have struck Bandy," spokesman Bill Sadler said in the statement.
Anyone with information is asked to call the state police troop in Forrest City at (870) 633-1454.
