1 killed, 4 injured in head-on wreck

An SUV carrying three minors crossed the centerline of a highway and struck a vehicle head-on Saturday, according to Arkansas State Police.

A 66-year-old Paragould man was killed in the wreck, which occurred near 3690 Arkansas 49 in Paragould about 11 a.m.

According to a preliminary accident report, Christina Lancaster, 29, of Paragould was driving a 2004 Chevrolet Blazer south when she crossed the centerline and struck a northbound 1998 Dodge. Johnny Mangrum, who was driving the Dodge, was killed.

Lancaster and three minor passengers in the Blazer were injured. According to the report, the injured were transported to Le Bonheur Children's Hospital in Memphis and NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital in Jonesboro.

A new law requires state police to redact the names and addresses of minors from crash reports that are made public.

According to state police, conditions were clear and roads were dry at the time of the wreck.
