The Drillers' victory came after Brian Burgamy scored on a ground out in the 12th to break a 5-5 game, Adam Law scored on a double from Brandon Trinkwon and Erisbel Arruebarrena drove in the final run with a single.

The Travs threatened again in the 12th but Raywilly Gomez grounded out to first base to end a game that lasted 4 hours, 48 minutes, the longest for the Travs this season and the longest at Dickey-Stephens Park since Tulsa won a 17-inning game 7-2 on July 14, 2012.

The Drillers had a chance to win it in the 10th when they scored three runs off Travs reliever Greg Mahle. Ronald Torreyes singled, and reached on a throwing error by Brian Hernandez. Lars Anderson walked to load the bases and Kyle Farmer drove in a run with a ground out to give the Drillers a 3-2 lead. Burgamy drove in Yadir Drake with a single and Peter Lavin made it 5-2 with a sacrifice fly.

But the Travs, who stranded 15 runners in the first nine innings, got a lead-off double from Erick Salcedo to start the rally. Chad Hinshaw hit an RBI single to left, and Blake Gailen's two-run double down the right-field line tied the game at 5-5.

The Travs couldn't make another comeback in the 12th, though, as they fell into a tie with the Springfield Cardinals for first place in the Texas League North Division second-half standings.

The Travs took a 2-1 lead with two runs in the fifth. Designated hitter Michael Snyder's 418-foot home run landed on the roof covering the batting cages behind the center field wall. Salcedo, who had three hits, then singled and scored on Hinshaw's single to left.

Tulsa tied it in the eighth when Jeremy Rathjen walked, pinch runner Robbie Garvey pinch ran and stole second and third base and scored on Farmer's sacrifice fly to make it 2-2.

Travs' starter Nate Smith turned in another quality start but his scoreless streak that stretched to last month came to an end at 22 1/3 innings on Anderson's sixth-inning home run that gave Tulsa a 1-0 lead.

Smith hadn't allowed a run for the Travs since June 20, and entered Friday night's game coming off two consecutive outings in which he pitched seven shutout innings. Smith struck out 6, gave up 4 hits and walked 1 in 6 innings.
