Man gets 35 years in child-porn case

A Cabot man convicted of child-exploitation offenses has been sentenced to 35 years in prison, the state attorney general's office announced Wednesday.

Jason Kurtz, 28, pleaded guilty to 30 counts of distributing, possessing or viewing matter depicting sexually explicit conduct involving children. He was arrested in February on a search warrant obtained by the Special Investigations Division of the attorney general's office. He was sentenced Tuesday by Lonoke County Circuit Judge Barbara Elmore.

In addition to his prison sentence, Kurtz will be required to register as a sex offender.
