Former Razorback quarterback Ryan Mallett will start Sunday for the Baltimore Ravens, the team announced.

Mallett, who was signed to the Ravens earlier this month after being released by the Houston Texans in October, will start when the team plays Pittsburgh. The game kicks off at noon.

Mallett was released by Houston after he was benched and then missed a team flight.

He earlier in the year missed a Texans practice, which he blamed on his oversleeping. That occurred after veteran Brian Hoyer was named the team's starting quarterback over Mallett heading into the season.

But Hoyer was pulled in the fourth quarter of Houston's first game, and Mallett became the starter. Hoyer took the starting job back, however, after the Texans struggled to a 1-4 start.

The Ravens lost quarterback Joe Flacco to a knee injury last month. The team had said it would wait until Sunday to reveal its starter for the Pittsburgh game. The Ravens announced it would be Mallett in a 10:30 a.m. tweet.
