• Groundhog Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow last week, predicting six more weeks of winter weather.
And judging by the size of pudgy Phil's shadow, he could really use six more weeks to prepare for shorts season.
• According to People magazine, quoting a source close to the Jenner/Kardashian families, 65-year-old patriarch Bruce Jenner, who has dramatically changed his appearance in recent months, is transitioning into a woman.
Here's hoping she picks a "K" name to continue the legacy of Kris, Kim, Kourtney, Khloe, Kendall and Kylie. Maybe Kaitlynn, Katrina or Krystal?
• Speaking of the Kardashians, Kim and her husband, Kayne West, recently joined singer John Legend and his wife, model Chrissy Teigen, on a double date that ended at a Waffle House with West photographed pouting.
Either Kanye wanted Denny's. Or his hashbrowns came out "smothered," "covered" and "capped" but not "topped" ("No Bert's Chili? I'm Kanye West! I'll punch Bert like a paparazzo!"). Or there was nothing from his Yeezus album on the jukebox.
• In celebration of headlining Sunday's Super Bowl halftime concert, singer Katy Perry had the Roman numeral "XLIX" tattooed on her finger.
Meanwhile, dancer Left Shark (who upstaged Perry by messing up the routine, trended on Twitter and now has some six accounts in his honor on the social media site), had "MVP" tattooed on his dorsal fin.
• Singer Justin Timberlake confirmed that his wife, actress Jessica Biel, is pregnant with their first child by posting to Instagram a photo of him kissing her bulging belly and the words "This year, I'm getting the GREATEST GIFT EVER. CAN'T WAIT."
That or ... it's Joey Fatone's gut in the picture and 'N Sync is getting back together.
• Singer Justin Beiber posted an apology video on Facebook, saying "I think I was nervous because I was afraid of what people are thinking about me right now. It's been a minute since I've been in a public appearance, and I didn't want to come off arrogant or conceited, or basically how I've been acting the past year. ... I'm not who I was pretending to be."
Now he just needs to apologize for recordings like My World, My World 2.0, My Worlds Acoustic, Never Say Never: The Remixes, Under the Mistletoe and Believe, and that 3-D concert film Justin Bieber: Never Say Never and that CSI episode and that SNL appearance and ...
• Singer Sam Smith told Rolling Stone that if he wins Album of the Year at tonight's Grammy Awards, he'll give it to Beyonce, saying "She deserves it way more than I do."
And then Beyonce can give it to Tom Petty, who has been given a songwriting credit on Smith's "Stay With Me," after it was determined during an amicable settlement that the song sounds like Petty's hit "I Won't Back Down." And he can give it to Taylor Swift, who wins everything. And then Kayne West can grab it back and give it to Beyonce.
• It has been reported that the Fifty Shades of Grey movie, out Valentine's weekend, will contain a dozen sex scenes that make up 20 minutes of the film's 100-minute running time.
That leaves 80 minutes for restroom breaks, concessions stops and drink refills.
