Author and Arkansas native Kevin Brockmeier, the spring semester’s Hendrix-Murphy Writer in Residence at Hendrix College, will read from and discuss his work at 7:30 p.m. today in Reves Recital Hall at Hendrix, 1600 Washington Ave., Conway.

Second Star

Ouachita Baptist University’s department of theater arts will stage Second Star to the Right, a Cirque du Soleil-inspired exploration of the story of Peter Pan, created and directed by Kaylee Nebe, a senior musical theater major from Mesquite, Texas, at 7:30 p.m. today-Saturday and Monday and 2:30 p.m. Sunday in Verser Theatre, Jones Performing Arts Center, OBU, 410 Ouachita St., Arkadelphia.

For the show, part of the university’s new student-produced theater initiative, the Muse Project, Nebe has dispensed with dialogue and uses just movement, mostly involving aerial acts.

Manning ‘Playbook’

Former NFL quarterback and University of Mississippi alumnus Archie Manning will give a talk titled “Playbook for Success” at 7:30 p.m. today in Benson Auditorium, Harding University, Searcy.
