Officers were sent to the Fairfield Apartments at 1912 Green Mountain Drive at 1:12 a.m. Friday, police reported, after getting a call during which a woman whispered, "Send police."

Joshua Darrough, 19, told police he opened his apartment door for his friend Christopher Wells, 19, of Little Rock, whom he was expecting, and an unknown man followed Wells into the apartment, displayed a rifle resembling an AK-47 and demanded money from Darrough.

After Darrough told the gunman that he didn't have any money, the man entered an unoccupied rear bedroom, rummaged through a dresser and found the $800, police reported. Darrough's roommate told police that he stepped out of his room, and the robber pointed the gun at him and ordered him back in his room.

Darrough told police the gunman left, and Wells walked out behind him on his own free will. After officers arrived, Darrough received multiple phone calls from Wells' cellphone from a person who Darrough suspected was the robber, stating he was holding Wells hostage and would kill him if he didn't receive more money, according to the police report.

The woman who called police and two others hid in the apartment during the robbery, police said.

Wells is described as black, 5 feet 8 inches tall, and wearing a black-and-white jacket and jeans.

The robber is described as black, 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighing 185 pounds and wearing a black T-shirt, black hoodie and camouflage pants.

Suspect reported to hit 1 with vehicle

Little Rock police arrested a woman Friday afternoon and charged her with aggravated robbery over allegations she struck a store employee with her vehicle while stealing merchandise, police said.

Seqoiyah Taylor, 29, of 1916 Franklin St. in North Little Rock, was arrested at the Little Rock police substation at 3917 W. 12th St. at 4:30 p.m. Friday, police reported.

Police said that earlier in the day Taylor and another woman entered the Dollar General at 9500 Satterfield Drive and purchased about $430 in merchandise.

A cashier assisted the two women in loading the merchandise in their vehicle, but another cashier discovered that the credit card used by Taylor had been declined, police reported. The employees confronted the two women, and Taylor put her vehicle into reverse and struck one of the employees.

Taylor, who also is charged with felony theft of property, was being held in the Pulaski County jail Friday night in lieu of $1,000 bond.
