Arkansas state offices in the Little Rock metropolitan area are closing for the remainder of the workday Wednesday because of inclement weather, Gov. Asa Hutchinson’s office said.

Nonessential personnel will be dismissed at noon, and state workers outside central Arkansas should ask their supervisors about closings, according to a statement.

The Clinton Presidential Center, which includes the library and the museum store, also said it would close at noon.

Earlier in the day, dozens of school districts called off class before the state's next winter storm arrived, canceling ahead of a system that's expected to drop as much as half a foot of snow on parts of Arkansas.
