Construction work to require temporary Arkansas 150 bridge closure

LITTLE ROCK — Arkansas highway officials say construction work soon will require about a month-long bridge closure in Mississippi County.

The Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department said crews will be raising the Arkansas 150 bridge over Interstate 55. The bridge will be raised about 17 inches for trucks that require a higher clearance while traveling on the highway.

The department said detour signs will be posted to help route traffic around the site until it's ready to reopen in late March. The Arkansas 150 bridge closure will begin Monday.

The bridge is about four miles north of Arkansas 18 in Blytheville and about one mile south of the Missouri state line. It was built in 1960, and its clearance height is 14.5 feet.
