Thomas Standley, 28, is the caregiver of 92-year-old Willie Frances Robinson, whom Standley is charged with assaulting in a Memphis duplex. An In the News item in Thursday's editions, which used Associated Press reporting based on an affidavit that police later amended, misstated the nature of the pair's relationship.
State Rep. Michael John Gray, D-Augusta, says he spoke with representatives from many state colleges about recent concealed-carry legislation, including an amendment he has proposed. None of them indicated support for the amendment, he added. A story in Friday's editions about the legislation incorrectly stated that the conversations hadn't taken place.
