Marathon's path alters bus routes

Saturday delays expected; traffic 2-way on East Eighth

The Central Arkansas Transit Authority said buses on 10 of its routes will take detours or be temporarily disrupted Sunday to avoid participants in the Little Rock Marathon.

The agency also said bus patrons should expect delays from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. today because of the Little Rock 5K Fun Run and the Little Rockers Kids Marathon.

To accommodate bus access to the River Cities Travel Center at 310 E. Capitol Ave. in Little Rock during the running of the marathon on Sunday, the agency said East Eighth Street will be modified for two-way traffic.

Here are the routes and how they will be affected Sunday.

Route 2- South Main

The 9:15 a.m. outbound will exit the travel center east on East Fourth Street, right onto the Interstate 30 frontage road, onto I-30 to East Roosevelt Road, right on South Main Street and left on East 23 Street before continuing its regular route.

The inbound will follow its regular route to South Scott and West 10th streets, which will be the end of the line.

The outbound won't serve the travel center after 9:15 a.m. until Mile 8 has been cleared. Instead, it will begin at 10th and Scott, turn left on 10th and then left on Main before resuming its regular route.

Route 3- Baptist Health Medical Center

Outbound will exit the travel center south onto South Cumberland Street, right on Eighth, left on Broadway, right on Interstate 630 west to Woodrow Street exit, right on Woodrow, right on West Seventh Street and right on South Battery Street before resuming regular route.

Inbound will follow regular route to Eighth and Battery, right on Eighth, merge onto I-630 east, exit at Broadway, left on Broadway, right on Eighth and left on East Rock Street to travel center.

Route 5- West Markham

Outbound will exit travel center south on Cumberland, right on Eighth, left on Broadway, right onto I-630 west, exit at Woodrow and right on Woodrow before resuming its regular route.

Inbound will follow its regular route to Seventh and Woodrow, continue on Woodrow to I-630 east access road, left onto I-630 east, exit at Broadway, left on Broadway, right on Eighth and left on Rock to the travel center.

Route 10-McCain Mall and Route 13-Pulaski Tech

Outbound will exit travel center east on Fourth, right onto Frontage Road, left on East Sixth Street, left on South Rector Street, merge onto I-30 east, exit at Broadway, left on Broadway in North Little Rock and right on Main Street before resuming regular route.

Inbound will follow its regular route to Maple Street and Broadway in North Little Rock, left on Broadway, right to merge onto I-30 west, exit at Sixth, right on Sixth and right on Rock to travel center.

Route 11-M.L. King

Outbound will exit travel center south on Cumberland, right on Eighth, left on Broadway, right onto I-630 west, exit at Rev. Martin Luther King Boulevard and left on King before resuming regular route.

Inbound will use regular route to King and Eighth, then right on Eighth to merge onto I-630 east, exit at Broadway, left on Broadway, right on Eighth and left on Rock to travel center.

Route 14-Rosedale

Outbound will exit travel center south on Cumberland, right on Eighth, left on Broadway, continue on Broadway to West 21st Street, right on 21st, right on South Gaines Street, and left on Charles Bussey Avenue before resuming regular route.

Inbound will use regular route to Bussey and Gaines, right on Gaines, left on 21st, left on Broadway, right on Eighth and left on Rock to Travel Center.

Route 16-UALR

Outbound will exit Travel Center south Cumberland, right on Eighth, left on Broadway, right onto I-630 west, exit at Woodrow, left on Woodrow and right on Bussey before resuming regular route.

Inbound will use regular route to Bussey and Woodrow, left on Woodrow, right to merge onto I-630 east, exit at Broadway, left on Broadway, right on Eighth and left on Rock to travel center.

Route 18-McAlmont

Outbound will exit travel center east on Fourth, turn right onto I-30 frontage road, left on Sixth, left on Rector, merge onto I-30 east, exit at Broadway in North Little Rock, left on Broadway, left on Main, left on East Washington Avenue and resume regular route.

Inbound will follow regular route to Washington and Maple, right on Maple, right on Broadway, right to merge onto I-30 east, exit Sixth in Little Rock, right on Sixth and right on Rock to travel center.

Route 20-

Airport-College Station

Outbound will exit travel center east on Fourth, turn right onto I-30 frontage road, merge onto I-30 west and continue regular route.

Inbound will follow regular route to I-30 east & Sixth, exit at Sixth, left on Sixth and right on Rock to travel center.

Route 23-

Baseline/Southwest

Outbound will exit travel center east on Fourth, right onto I-30 frontage road, merge onto I-30 West and resume regular route.

Inbound will use regular route to I-30 east & Sixth, exit Sixth left on Sixth and right on Rock to travel center.
