State conservationist to speak at soil and water conference

JONESBORO — Arkansas native and state conservationist Mike Sullivan has been announced as the speaker for Arkansas State University's 17th annual Soil and Water Education Conference.

The conference is set for Jan. 30 at the school's convocation center.

Sullivan is among a number of guests scheduled to discuss soil health and fertility management, program updates from the EPA and review of last year's weather and the forecast for 2015, among other topics.

Sullivan has served as state conservationist since 2009. He is a registered professional engineer and earned degrees at the University of Arkansas and Arizona State University.
