Arkansas Literary Festival lineup announced

John Waters, Rebecca Wells among those featured

The Central Arkansas Library System announced Thursday the roster of authors, filmmakers, journalists and artists presenting at its 12th annual Arkansas Literary Festival.

The festival, to be held April 23-26, features a lineup of 80 presenters from 25 states, including 21 Arkansans, festival coordinator Brad Mooy said.

The list includes writer and filmmaker John Waters, The Misadventures of Awkward Black Girl creator Issa Rae, Pulitzer Prize winner Rick Bragg and Ya-Ya Sisterhood series author Rebecca Wells.

Hope Coulter, Jessica Jacobs, Nickole Brown, Guy Lancaster and Karen Akins are among the local authors making appearances at the festival.

Much of the festival takes place at the Central Arkansas Library System’s Main Library campus, as well as other Little Rock venues. Panels, performances, workshops, book signings and opportunities to meet authors are planned, as well as special events for children.

The full lineup can be found here.

A schedule including times and locations will be available April 1.
