Big Rock Interchange, I-40/I-430 ramp bridge work set

Work on the Interstate 40-Interstate 430 ramp bridge in Little Rock will require alternating lane closures next week, and the Interstate 430/I-630 Big Rock Interchange will undergo some work Saturday, state highway officials said.

On Saturday, crews at the Big Rock Interchange will remove the construction safety platforms from the I-430 North to I-630 East bridge and the I-630 West to I-430 South bridge and will stripe the highway and build a wall on the I-430 North to I-630 East bridge, highway officials said.

The work, running from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., will close the inside turn lane from southbound Shackleford Road to I-630 East, the inside lane of Financial Centre Parkway from Hardin/Hermitage Road and the two inside, eastbound lanes of I-630 from Shackleford Road to the Baptist Health Medical Center exit ramp.

Next week, a contractor will be installing a precast barrier wall on the I-40/I-430 ramp bridge, closing the eastbound, inside lane nightly from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday through Jan. 31, the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department said in a statement. The westbound, inside lanes will close between 9 p.m. and 7 a.m. those days, highway officials said.
