2 followed home by robbers in LR

Two Little Rock men were followed home from a grocery store and robbed at gunpoint Tuesday night, police reported.

Officers responded about 7:27 p.m. to a mobile home park at 9500 S. Heights Road. Leonarde Cruz, 37, and Bernabe Ciega, 30, told police that three black males in a Mercury Grand Marquis had followed them home from a Buy Rite Foodmart about a mile away.

Cruz said the driver of the Grand Marquis pulled out a gun, struck him in the head and robbed him and Ciega of their wallets, cellphones, cash and keys, according to a police report.

Cruz refused medical treatment at the scene, police said.

The robbers were last seen fleeing north on South Heights Road. Police searched the area but made no arrests.

An investigation is ongoing.

LR gunman robs Dollar General

Little Rock police were searching for a man who robbed a Dollar General store at gunpoint Tuesday night.

Officers responded about 9:35 p.m. to 9500 Satterfield Drive, where Dollar General employees Ariel Danley, 29, and Roteisha Galbert, 21, said they had been standing outside when an armed man confronted them. The man -- who wore a mask, hoodie and gloves -- forced the two inside and made them open a cash register, according to a police report.

The robber took about $1,900 and fled on foot, police said.

No injuries were reported.

Investigators viewed surveillance footage of the robbery. No arrests had been made late Wednesday.

Shoplifter fought worker, police say

A Ward man was arrested Tuesday afternoon after he attempted to steal a flashlight and lighter from a Little Rock Home Depot, according to a police report.

Jason Lafever, 32, of 8 Ariel Drive in Ward, was arrested at 2:10 p.m. Tuesday and charged with a felony count of robbery and misdemeanor count of theft of property, police reported.

Police said that Lafever tried to steal the $15 flashlight and $4 lighter from the Home Depot at 12610 Chenal Parkway but was stopped by a loss-prevention officer. Lafever became combative and struck an employee in the right jaw and kicked him, according to the report.

Lafever was not listed on the Pulaski County jail roster Wednesday night.
