Second Presbyterian Church in Nashville, Tenn., was the setting at 5 p.m. Saturday, June 27, for the marriage of Caroline Edwards Denne, who goes by Callie, and Lucas Wayne Elliott. The Rev. Mary Louise McCullough officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Eileen and Steve Denne, 5301 Stonewall Road, and the granddaughter of Robert and the late Charleen Edwards of Fresno, Calif., and the late Phyllis and Robert Denne of Chagrin Falls, Ohio.

Parents of the groom are Diane and Wayne Elliott of Paducah, Ky. His grandparents are Myrtie and the late Bryan Hudson of La Center, Ky., and Sara and the late Louis Elliott of Paducah.

The sanctuary held two large arrangements of coral, pink, yellow and white roses, peonies and hydrangeas. Music was by organist Elizabeth Smith.

The bride walked down the aisle with her father and wore a candlelight duchess-satin gown with an intricately beaded and embroidered bodice and full satin skirt. She wore a veil of silk tulle with a lace sequin- and pearl-covered cap worn by her mother, great-aunt and grandmother at their weddings. She carried a bouquet of coral, peach and pink roses, pink peonies and white hydrangea.

Maid of honor was Julia Denne of Little Rock, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Emily Bowers of Nashville; Cara Edwards of Salinas, Calif.; Angelica Klingsmith of Houston; Tory Peabody and Caitlin Terrell, both of Washington; and Lauren Trowbridge of Candler, N.C. They wore short navy peau de soie dresses and carried bouquets of coral and pink roses and white hydrangea. Flower girl was Charlotte Amundson of Washington.

Best man was Richard Walter II of Lexington, Ky. Groomsmen were Landen Burcham, Josh Campbell, Jeremy Lowy and Sandeep Mangireddygari, all of Louisville, Ky.; Justin Faith of Chattanooga, Tenn.; and Dustin Kostelek of Lexington. Guests were seated by Joseph Elliott and Daniel Clevenger, both of Louisville, and Jorge Valenzuela of Salinas.

A reception at Loveless Barn in Nashville followed the ceremony.

The bride graduated from Denison University, Granville, Ohio, with bachelor's degrees in history and German. She is an intern with the Urban Leaders Summer Fellowship at Communities in Schools of Tennessee, a nonprofit in Nashville. She will attend graduate school in organizational leadership and communications at Belmont University, Nashville, in the fall.

The groom graduated with a bachelor's degree in finance and a master's degree in urban planning from the University of Louisville (Ky.). He teaches mathematics at McGavock High School in Nashville.

The couple will live in Nashville and plan a December honeymoon trip to the Caribbean.
